Deputy Mayor Janice Lukes Visits BLISS GOURMET BAKERY During Pre-Opening Period

Bliss Gourmet Bakery was honoured to welcome Deputy Mayor Janice Leah Lukes for an early visit during our pre-opening period. Deputy Mayor Lukes toured the bakery, spoke warmly with our team, and shared encouraging words as we prepare to open our doors to the community.

During the visit, our co-founder, Anna, introduced Deputy Mayor Janice Leah Lukes to the heart of our bakery — the craftsmanship behind our freshly baked bread, Italian-inspired cookies, and small-batch desserts. The Deputy Mayor also learned about our journey from Bliss Gourmet Baked Goods, established in 2015, to the opening of our first retail bakery space on Pembina Highway.
Her visit took place as customers from across the neighbourhood stopped by during our pre-opening days, filling the bakery with warmth, conversation, and the smell of fresh bread. For our team, it was a meaningful moment to see the community come together and support a new local business in the heart of Winnipeg.

We are grateful for Deputy Mayor Lukes’ encouragement, and her recognition of the work local small businesses contribute to our city. Her visit was a meaningful reminder of why we do what we do — to share good food, create welcoming spaces, and serve the community that has supported Bliss from the beginning. We remain committed to bringing thoughtfully crafted, high-quality baked goods to Winnipeg and look forward to sharing this new chapter of Bliss with our community.
